Atelier

Based in Bari in the Murat district, in Via Davanzati 9, a side street of Corso Cavour, the nerve center of the city life.

It wasn't love at first sight. We visited so many others before coming back, revisiting it and realizing how much potential it had. The place was rough, with walls covered in wood and colored carpet. A U-shaped mezzanine that cuts off the perspective view of the central arch and hides the beauty of the cross vaults.

We had a very clear idea of what the finished Atelier should look like. Explaining it was complicated and we were constantly told that didn't make sense. We could imagine it finished, perhaps because of the trips made, the places visited and our 7 years spent in Berlin. There the stores are all a mix of unfinished walls and furniture found on the street or at flea markets, soft lights and voids to give space to visitors.

An old-fashioned Atelier, with rough masonry and flooring, antique furniture and industrial inserts, with sewing machines and cutting table in sight which allow people to observe the slow-fashion production process. A mix between Brutalism, Industrial and Minimal.

Aendör Studio is the result of our life experiences, our sacrifices, our travels, the people we met, the discriminations experienced directly and indirectly, the discussions faced and the impossibility sometimes of being able to express ourselves even through art.

Not only an Atelier. This is not the plan. Indeed, the idea is to make it a place for sharing. A place to organize events, exhibitions, debates and workshops. A place where you can give voice to people and themes that are too often set aside.

WE DO NOT TOLERATE SEXISM, RACISM, HOMOPHOBIA, TRANSPHOBIA AND ANY OTHER FORM OF DISCRIMINATION OR DISRESPECT. IF THEY OCCUR, WE WILL NOT HESITATE TO REPORT IT TO THE COMPETENT AUTHORITIES.
